Community Arts Project Celebration
Posted on April 25 2014
There are two ways to donate...
Make artwork: Paradigm Gallery + Studio provides the materials, while you bring your creativity. Everything made will be displayed in the studio and donated to support the gallery. All are welcome. No artistic experience needed.
Purchase artwork: For this benefit exhibition, we are suggesting a $20 donation for each piece of artwork purchased. We are offering a pay-what-you-can price range to help make it possible for a larger community to purchase original, local artwork.
April 25th - May 10th
Artwork due date:
Saturday • April 19th
"Fourth Fridays on Fourth Street" Reception:
Friday • April 25th • 5:30pm - 10:00pm
Gallery Open Hours:
Saturdays • 12-6pm
About the project and exhibition:
Paradigm's Community Arts Project began two summers ago (Impressively run by our summer interns, Caitlin and Sean!), and the support has been fantastic! We have invited people to join us on Saturdays to paint, wheatpaste, collage, and more with a different theme each month. We are inviting anyone that would like to participate in this program to stop by to create work in the space on Saturdays from 12-6pm or take a 6" x 6" woodblock to-go to create work for an exhibition opening this April. Let your imagination run wild for this one - the theme is open for the exhibition. We will, however, post some ideas and completed projects on our page weekly to help get the juices flowing.
The goal:
Through this exhibition and benefit, we hope to celebrate and exhibit our community's creativity, further develop and expand our Community Arts Project, and celebrate the past four years at Paradigm!
Additional details:
All artwork is due by April 5, 2014. If you have any questions about donating artwork for the event, please email sara@paradigm-gallery.com using the subject line "Community Arts Project".
Please make sure to write your name on or attach it to the back of your piece so we know who to thank. Please also include your email address if you would like to be included in mailings about the event. Artwork may be dropped off after-hours through the mail slot on our front door, but please wrap your artwork in bubble wrap or similar protective materials if you do this -- We don't want anything to happen to your beautiful artwork!
"You're Awesome!" Announcement:
A huge THANK YOU for the support that we have already received! We have ninety pieces and counting -- and it all looks fantastic! Let's see how much of these walls we can cover!
